Μπορεί να είχε δηλώσει ότι το καταπληκτικό Varieté του 2010 θα ήταν ο τελευταίος του δίσκος με original τραγούδια, αλλά τελικά ο Marc Almond μεταπείστηκε και έχει έτοιμο καινούριο δίσκο με τίτλο The Velvet Trail. Αυτός που κατάφερε να του αλλάξει γνώμη ήταν ο συνθέτης και παραγωγός Chris Braide, o οποίος έχει στο βιογραφικό του συνεργασίες με μεγάλα ονόματα της μουσικής βιομηχανίας (Lana Del Rey, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, David Guetta κτλ) και ως μεγάλος φαν του Marc Almond του έγραψε και του έστειλε καινούρια τραγούδια, οραματιζόμενος τον ultimate δίσκο του (electric, lush, emotional, dark and sexy). Το αποτέλεσμα ενθουσίασε τον Αlmond, έγραψε στίχους και ερμήνευσε τα κομάτια και στις 9 Μαρτίου 2015 ο νέος του δίσκος θα είναι στα δισκοπωλεία.
