The GREEK ALTERNATIVE CHARTS - GAC, hosted by postwave.gr, are Greece's first official charts for the
music range "alternative". They reflect sales and club airplay for a variety of
music styles in this range, from indie pop/rock, gothic, wave to synthpop, ebm,
electro, industrial and nu-metal.
They also
tend to reflect new currents and music trends according to the data submitted from
DJs of the most important Greek clubs and sales of the alternative experts
record stores. At the time being, we combine info from 26 DJs, 20 different
clubs, 12 record stores and the official Greek charts from ifpi. These numbers
will hopefully grow in the near future.
GAC will be
listed every two weeks, consisting of a top20
album-chart and a top10 singles-chart.
How they are
compiled:
Every
second week, each DJ send us a top 10 albums-list and a top 5 singles-list
based on personal valuation of people's reaction on the songs he played the
last 15 days.
On the
other hand, record dealers submit information only for album sales, since
singles in the alternative market are minimum and play a subordinated role.
An album
that's on the top of a list gets 10 points, on the second place 9 points, etc...
All this
data is transferred manually to computer and with the help of an optimized software, the computer does all the necessary
calculation steps to set the charts.
An album or
a single can stay on the charts for a maximum 20 weeks. Afterwards it drops
from the charts and there's no way for a re-entry.

Τα GREEK ALTERNATIVE CHARTS
- GAC ,που φιλοξενούνται
και δημοσιεύονται στο postwave.gr, είναι τα πρώτα ελληνικά charts που
αφορούν πωλήσεις και club ή radio airplay για μουσικές που ονομάζουμε "alternative", συμπεριλαμβάνοντας μια
μεγάλη γκάμα μουσικών ειδών και τάσεων. Από
indie pop, rock, wave και gothic, ως electronica , synthpop, ebm,
industrial και nu-metal.
Σκοπός τους είναι να αντανακλούν και τις νέες μουσικές
τάσεις και ρεύματα στην χώρα μας, σύμφωνα με τις πληροφορίες που λαμβάνουμε από
DJs των
σημαντικότερων ελληνικών clubs και τις πωλήσεις στα εξειδικευμένα εναλλακτικά δισκοπωλεία.
Αυτη τη στιγμή, τα GAC συνδυάζουν πληροφορίες από 26 DJs, 20 διαφορετικά clubs, 12 εξειδικευμένα
δισκάδικα και τις επίσημες λίστες που δημοσιεύει η ifpi.
Ο αριθμός των παραπάνω ελπίζουμε ότι θα μεγαλώσει κατά πολύ
στο άμεσο μέλλον.
Τα GAC θα δημοσιεύονται κάθε 15 μέρες (την 1η και 16η
κάθε μήνα) απoτελούμενα
από ένα top20 albums chart και
ένα top10 singles chart.
Πως δημιουργούνται:
Κάθε 15 μέρες, όλοι οι DJs στέλνουν από μια λίστα με τα 10
καλύτερα albums και τα 5 καλύτερα singles βασιζόμενοι στην προσωπική τους
εκτίμηση και σφυγμομετρώντας τις αντιδράσεις του κόσμου στις μουσικές τους
επιλογές,.
Από την άλλη πλευρά, τα δισκοπωλεία στέλνουν τις λίστες
πωλήσεων μόνο για albums,
μια και οι πωλήσεις των singles είναι πλέον πολύ μικρές και παίζουν δευτερεύοντα ρόλο στην
μουσική βιομηχανία.
Ενα άλμπουμ ή single που
βρίσκεται στην κορυφή μιας λίστας παίρνει 10 βαθμούς, αυτό που βρίσκεται στην
δεύτερη θέση παίρνει 9, κ.ο.κ
Ολες οι πληροφορίες μεταφέρονται από εμάς σε computer, το οποίο με τη
βοήθεια ενός ειδικού προγράμματος,κάνει τους απαραίτητους υπολογισμούς για να
βγάλει τα τελικά charts.
Ενα album ή single μπορεί να μείνει στα charts το πολύ 20 εβδομάδες. Μετά πέφτει
αυτόματα και δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να επανεμφανιστεί.
